Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.00hrs for our journey to the 4-star Cambridge Belfry with a lunch stop at the National Memorial Arboretum en-route allowing time to explore and obtain lunch, departing at 13.30hrs to continue our journey to the hotel, arrive to a warm welcome with tea/coffee while your case is taken to your room.
Tuesday - Thursday
Free time at the hotel to relax and perhaps enjoy the leisure facilities with the following excursions:
Today following breakfast, we visit the beautiful university city of Cambridge with time to explore and obtain lunch, perhaps take a stroll by the River Cam or visit one of the wonderful museums, shop until you drop or find somewhere delicious for lunch from one of the many cafes, pubs and restaurants, today the choice is yours. Re-join the coach at 14.00hrs, before heading back to the hotel we make a stop at the American Cemetery and Memorial overlooking Cambridge. Explore the visitor centre, chapel and the longest Wall of the Missing in Europe including the name of Maj. Alton G Miller (big band leader Glenn Miller) and Joseph (Joe) Kennedy elder brother of assassinated United States president John F Kennedy.
Following a leisurely breakfast today's excursion takes us the ancient riverside market town of St Ives in Cambridgeshire allowing time to explore and obtain lunch in this beautiful hidden gem. See if you can spot the iconic Oliver Cromwell statue surrounded by unique shops and pretty tea rooms. Head to the river towards the Dolphin Hotel, a pleasant walk to the ancient bridge complete with chapel, very picturesque and unique being one of the few remaining in England. Re-join the coach at 14.30hrs, return to the hotel for time to relax.
Today's excursion takes us into the Fens to the historic, pocket size city of Ely with a guided ground floor tour of the magnificent cathedral with free time to explore the picturesque city, allowing time to obtain lunch before returning to the hotel.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey home with a lunch stop at RAF Cosford en-route allowing time to explore and obtain lunch, departing at 14.00 to continue our journey home.
